While learning how to do photoshop, I worked on this image using the basic tools. We used the quick Selection tool to cut the girl out from the background, and then made a separate layer for the colour. We tried different text styles and effects, and different effects on the girl such as the Stroke effect around her. This is the image I ended up with.
First image is the original, second is a symmetry edit I did with the marquee tool (I also smoothed out some of his wrinkles and pores with the patch healing tool), third image was a crazy edit using a layer mask where I changed his hair and eye colour.
For this advertisement I used the quick selection tool to isolate the shoes and legs from their original background. I made some edits with the spot healing tool to make the legs appear smoother. Then I added the purple gradient background, the converse logo, and their slogan 'Shoes are boring, wear sneakers'. It was simple but it turned out really nice. Below is my inspiration for the ad.
This ad was a little more time consuming for me. I had to find flames with a transparent background online first. I used the quick selection tool once again to isolate the shoe, then I added multiple layers of the flame to give the desired effect. I smoothed out the harsh lines with a soft eraser brush. I added a gradient background, a drop shadow to the shoe, the logo and it looked finished. My inspiration for this is below.
